Markus Achord (he/him)

Co-Founder & Managing Partner- Corporate Employee Experience Executive

Markus is an accomplished business executive leader and educator with expertise gained over two decades in global organizations leading efforts focused on how employees navigate the workplace and how they connect with communities and external partners. His career has included impactful leadership roles at companies that include Sunrun, Google, Best Buy, Symantec, CareFusion, Toro, PG&E, Coca Cola Enterprises, and MoneyGram.

Markus also enjoys sharing his experience and passion for what it means to be an inclusive leader and how to create an impact on workplace culture and belonging through data-driven, human-centered strategies. He joined the faculty of Cornell University in 2020 as an eCornell Course Facilitator and continues to educate learners from around the world through courses that include Improving Engagement, Fostering an Inclusive Climate, and Countering Bias in the Workplace.

A military veteran, he served for 8 1/2 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy and for 12 1/2 years in the Navy Reserve, for a combined 21 years of distinguished service. In addition to numerous awards and accolades, he served a prestigious three-year tour as a Leadership Course Facilitator for the Navy’s Center for Personal and Professional Development. He completed his military service as the Senior Enlisted Leader and Command Chief for the Navy’s Mobilization and Deployment Support Command in San Diego, CA.

Markus is a Certified eCornell Facilitator and has completed additional certificates from Cornell University for Change Management, Hybrid Work Strategy and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for HR. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Science in Human Resource Leadership and Education from Louisiana State University.

He is a graduate of Northeast High School in Zachary, LA.
